Three days, nearly a million square feet, and the enterprise buyers behind the AI budgets all in one building in Las Vegas.
Three days in August is what Ai4 2026 asks of the enterprise AI community, and this year the ask comes with more room than ever. The conference runs August 4 to 6 at The Venetian in Las Vegas, and the organizers have roughly doubled the footprint to nearly a million square feet (Ai4, 2025). Ai4 bills itself as the largest applied AI conference in the United States, and the 2026 program is built to fill every one of those three days. I am looking forward to being there for it.
What the event actually is
Ai4 started in 2018 and now runs under CloserStill Media. The pitch is straightforward in the good sense: gather the people building and buying enterprise AI in one place for three days and let them compare notes. The 2026 program lists 12,000-plus attendees, 1,000-plus speakers, and 400-plus exhibitors from more than 90 countries (Ai4, 2025).
Those numbers matter less to me than the mix behind them. Ai4 is not a research lab showcase and it is not a startup pitch marathon. It is where enterprise buyers go. Organizations that took part in 2025 and are expected back include Google, Amazon, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Meta, Databricks, Capital One, Walmart, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, JPMorgan, NASA, and Mayo Clinic (Ai4, 2025). When healthcare systems, banks, and federal agencies show up to the same floor as the hyperscalers and the chipmakers, the hallway conversations get specific in a way that keynote slides rarely do.
The program spans twenty tracks
The 2026 agenda is built around 20 industry and technical tracks (Ai4, 2025). The industry tracks read like a map of where AI budgets are actually going: financial services, healthcare, cybersecurity, retail, manufacturing, energy, transportation, national security, insurance, and media. The technical tracks go the other direction, into AI agents, generative AI, and the infrastructure underneath both.
Session formats vary, which I appreciate. There are executive panels and fireside chats for the strategic view, and enterprise case studies and technical deep dives for the people who have to make the thing work on Monday. For anyone who wants hands-on time, two half-day training workshops run the day before the main program, on August 3, in partnership with General Assembly (Ai4, 2025). One is technical and code-heavy, the other is aimed at business leaders learning implementation fundamentals.
The show also opens early. Peer-to-peer discussion groups start Monday, August 2, before the official kickoff, for attendees who arrive ahead of the crowd.
The names that draw a room this size
Ai4 has a history of putting some of the most recognizable people in AI on its main stage. Recent editions have featured figures such as Geoffrey Hinton and Fei-Fei Li, and the 2026 speaker roster is still being announced week by week (Ai4, 2025). I will admit the marquee keynotes are part of the draw. Hearing a founding figure in the field think out loud about where things are heading is worth the trip on its own.
But the speakers I am most planning around are the ones a level below the headliners: the practitioners running real AI programs inside large organizations. The person who moved a retrieval system from pilot to production and can tell you what broke. The security lead who watched an agent do something nobody scoped for. Those sessions are where the useful detail lives.
What I am going to Ai4 to find out
I cover the full enterprise technology stack, from the infrastructure at the bottom to the applications at the top, and my job is turning what vendors build into value a CIO, CTO, or CMO can use. A show this broad is a rare chance to test that view across every layer at once, in the same building, over three days.
So I am going in with questions rather than a checklist. How are enterprises moving agents from demo to dependable? Where is the gap between what the exhibit hall promises and what the case studies deliver? Which of the 400 companies on the floor are solving a real problem, and which are solving the same problem everyone else is?
I will be writing about what I find at shashi.co afterward. If you are attending Ai4 2026, come find me. The best part of any event this size is never on the agenda.
What I'll Be Listening For
Twelve thousand people will tell you AI is transforming their industry. A much smaller number can tell you exactly what it broke on the way there. Those are the conversations I am flying out for. If you have one, let's talk.
