About Shashi Bellamkonda

Principal Research Director · Info-Tech Research Group

Shashi Bellamkonda is Principal Research Director at Info-Tech Research Group. He serves about 40,000 CIO and technology-leader members.

His research sits on the Business of the Customer: marketing technology, customer experience, collaboration, and the full enterprise AI stack.

He is Entrepreneur in Residence at Stony Brook University's College of Business. He taught marketing at Georgetown for more than 14 years. He hosts The Talking Headless Show for analyst relations and vendor leaders.

Before Info-Tech he held senior marketing roles at Network Solutions and VeriSign. That work included budgets, demand-gen teams, and pipeline reviews. It still shapes how he briefs and how he writes.

He advises vendors on positioning, go-to-market, and analyst relations. He works with enterprise buyers on vendor selection and roadmaps.

His paper on using AI and machine learning to identify and predict customers appeared in the Journal of Applied Marketing Analytics. His work has been cited by more than 19 marketing authors.

Education: B.A. in Hotel Management; B.A. in Liberal Arts, Public Administration; Executive Marketing Certificate, Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Why the whole stack

Most enterprise AI coverage stops at models and app features. The constraints sit lower: network, compute, cloud, data platforms, then agents and applications.

A contract at the application layer creates dependencies three layers down. That is why the work on this site runs across six layers, not one. The method is in Why I Cover the Entire AI Stack, Not Just the Part You Hear About.

He writes at shashi.co for that analysis, misunderstoodmarketing.com for B2B marketing, carryoncurry.com for South Asian business and culture, and readythoughts.com for personal essays.

Why include me in your analyst outreach

My colleagues at Info-Tech cover the Business of IT: infrastructure, security, and future technology. My research anchors the Business of the Customer.

I am a former CMO and a former Georgetown adjunct. I have run marketing budgets and sat in the same seat as the buyers I now advise.

2.46 million impressions in 12 months, 82 percent outside my network. Coverage reaches operators and buyers, not only other analysts.

Briefings are free and carry no RFI obligation. If the conversation is useful, I can open a wider session with the Info-Tech analyst team.

If your outreach list is heavy on infrastructure and light on people who have run a marketing P&L, that is the gap.
