Hurray ! The Big B has started Blogging

Yesterday my wife told me that Amitabh Bachan (Wikipedia ,IMDB ) has a Blog . All my blog readers may not have heard of Amitabh Bachan. He is a renowned actor in the Indian Sub-continent over 6ft tall and acted in over 170 movies. One of his nick names is "Big B". He hosted the Indian version of "Who wants to be a Millionaire" on Star TV.

I am thrilled that he has a blog and judging by the number of comments on his blog (233 to 726) he is having a great conversation with his fans and answering comments. A sampling of his responses to coments (

Vikram Jit, I note your point on enemies reading the blog too and its subsequent repercussions. And BICHAR I am so glad that I can bring a smile to your face. Thank you.

JOY RANA, thank you for your frank confession that you are not my fan, but that you recognize me as a power to reckon with !! Hmm… Wait till you see the ‘power’ of Sarkar Raj !! And Nilesh Mishra, still questions my guest list for the marriage of Abhi-Ash. Dude ! Its over now, a year has gone by, those that should have been there were there. Matter over, move on !

ZINEB, I love you too !

And NOBAB MUNNA from Chittagong, Bangladesh, kaymon accho !!

AVINASH, is cynical still on my land matter. You do not have to. Let the judgement come, I shall spend an entire chapter on it for you. Promise !!

VINITA DESHMUKH is upset. She enjoyed watching the Charles-Diana wedding and is furious that we did not allow the media access to Abhi-Ash wedding for her viewing pleasure.

I like Amitabh Bachan and had the privilege of meeting him in Moscow where I worked for a Indian restaurant and he came to dine there and took pictures with us. He is a great actor and a fun person to meet. Someday I hope I can have him to a local blogger met :) ( You never know )

However in the past decade this has changed dramatically. Now `Emirates (Dubai) Etihad (Abu Dhabi) Qatar Airways (In Doha, Qatar) have taken over these routes with their new aircraft and great service. From Washington DC, Emirates is an outlier, it flies in the morning at 10.55 from Washington Dulles Airport (IAD) and reaches Dubai at around 8.30 a.m. Other flights, Etihad, Qatar and flights with European stopovers take off after 9 p.m at night. I love this timing but it does cause a disagreement in my house. My wife prefers to fly Eithad due to the timings. My wife's viewpoint is that it is difficult to sleep on the Emirates flight since it starts in the morning. I enjoy the morning flight. My game plan is to sleep less for a few days to my Emirates flight. Once on the flig
