Travelling to diffeent places in the US gives you a new perspective. I find Chicago and the mid-west so polite. People actually stop and volunteer to help you.
I think travel is a great way for people to improve their outlook to the world. In the US people who I have met who have traveled extensively or have lived abroad have a different view on culture , world affairs and people.
Every parent should make sure their kids go abroad not to do touristy things but to actually go off the beaten path and experience the real culture.
