How to @mention on Pinterest

Source: flickr.com via Shashi on Pinterest

This morning I got an email from Pinterest that my friend Geoff Livingston added me to his  following list.  I posted this photo from my Flickr feed and wondered about how to attract his attention to this picture.

Here are the steps to @mention someone on Pinterest.

  1. You should be following at least one board belonging to the user
  2. Then in the description or in a comment type @ and the Pinterest user name and you will see their names in suggested potential matches

I've been hearing that Pinterest has been on a bit of a surge. If this keeps up, then the website could be a very convenient way to advertise any of a number of products.
